TMR recently refusd Le Tour de l'Ile de Montreal their streets because of too many complaints of inconvenience from residents/businesses. Laval will not allow Le Tour back because they found no benefit for their citizens. DDO will not allow Le Tour back because of Le Tour's attitude. Dorval, Cote St Luc and Hampstead will not allow Le Tour to return unless the participants of the event are invited to raise funds for charity.

Unfortunately, Velo Quebec has blinders on and those blinders are going to lead to the end of their cash cow if they do not smarten up.

agenda agenda, agenda, everyone has an their agenda. Do we want the tour de l'ile to become like some marathon's where you don't get to participate unless you raise 10,000$ Or do we want to keep it open to everyone? It's not the tour that has a problem, it's the desire of some people to use the tour for their own agenda and for completely unrelated purposes. The fact is the purpose of the tour is to let people visit their own city on bicycle without being killed by cars, 'nuff said.

Hey anonomous, what's your name?

Le TDI is about to be shut out forever?According to Mayor Worth of Pierrefonds, charities on the West Island are creating their own cycling event and that cities there will never allow 2 cycling events/yr to block off the streets.

Bye Bye TOUR
