New hampshire white mtns - Kancamagus "scenic" highway

Lots of corners, lots of mountains

More mountains, we are definitely in the White Mountains (but they're green?)

Summit look out on the Kancamagus (west side)

The top of Kancamagus, riding from Lincoln is the hard way

We finally made it to the big hills of New Hampshire.

We started at Lincoln and rode the Kancamagus highway, with a extension to Bartlett over Bear Notch Pass. We started up Crawford Pass, but the knee had other plans, so at 60 km we turned around and headed back and retraced the route to Lincoln.

This is a scenic ride, in fact, it is one of the most scenic drives in eastern north America! Enjoy the pictures.

Wow, this takes me back. I hitch-hiked this highway, 26 (yikes!) years ago, going from Dartmouth up to Gorham.
The folks who picked me up were fantastic, a motley crew, but I was getting nervous as the sun was setting: it had rained earlier in the day and the temperature had really dropped
