Pont Jacques Cartier bridge bike path - Longueuil side rebuilding to start soon
The long-neglected, narrow, and poorly marked bike path on the south shore side of the Pont Jacques Cartier bridge is finally getting its long-awaited rebuilding starting shortly.
We hope that the non-existent signage (map/directions) when this path arrives at street-level in Longueuil gets some improvement too.
Read more here, and here at the pont jacques cartier website.
Did you know that this iconic bridge was originally called the Montreal Harbor Bridge?
The bike path/sidewalk along the west side of this bridge has one of the most amazing views of Montreal.

Will the improvements include the narrow bridge portion or just the approach to Longueuil. It sounds to me its just the approach, hopefully not though.
Wow that's great if they fix it. It gets a little tight towards the foot of the bridge! One thing though, the victoria ecluse has been iffy as of late. Sometimes closed and stuff so I`ve been using the full jacques cartier bridge and not the circuit villeneuve. This might be a problem if the ecluse or circuit is closed and so is the south shore side of the jacques cartier! Do you know if they have a website saying if the ecluse is closed or the circuit is closed ect?
parc jean drapeau website?
Societe pont jacques cartier?
Velo Quebec
i also take the victoria ecluse... the parc jean drapeau website doesnt have any set up for announcing cycle path closures. did you guys find anything?
