Last ride of 2009?

The big snowstorm tomorrow might mean that tonight's ride home from work is the last outdoor ride of the year. The end the montreal summer cycling season? We'll see.

If it is the end of 2009, then it means it is the start of 2010 bike season.

Woohoo 2010!

Yup, just came back from a nice 35k loop, probably the last one on the road bike for now. My feet were frozen solid and I slipped on ice patches along the Lachine canal. I'll miss that. Sad.

The winter bike (MTB with studded tires) should come out on the weekend. Hopefully, some of tomorrow's snow will have been cleared by then.

Funny, 'cuz for me the very same snowstorm means the beginning of the real cycling season. In my experience as an all year round commuter, winter is, surprisingly, the season when Montreal drivers seems to be the more respectful of cyclists. Maybe it's because only the experienced ones are left on the icy streets? Who knows. What's clear is that I just finished tweaking my winter bike and that I really hope we'll get a good one tomorrow. :-)
